Brian Wee
Windfall Farm welcomes Brian Wee to our staff.
Brian Wee started riding when he was six years old, and has been
involved with horses ever since. When Brian was ten years old he
competed his Connemara in three day events, and eventually moved into
the showjumping world when he was 14. He went straight from three day
eventing to the Jumper ring, and competed successfully up to the High
Amateur Owner Jumper division, before selling his horses and attending
the University of California Santa Barbara. During college, he catch
rode Hunter and Equitation horses at Sterling Silver Stables under the
training of Leslie Nelson, and had numerous wins in her program having
never before competed in the Hunter ring. After graduating from UCSB
with a degree in Business/Economics, Brian began working at Merrill
Lynch as a Financial Advisor. However his Amateur catch riding career
began to take off. Some of his successes in 2009 include winning the
Pebble Beach Amateur Hunter Chase Circuit Championship, the Pebble
Beach Norcal Equitation Classic, the $5,000 Tucson Open Hunter Derby,
the SFVHSA Medal Finals, and piloting the Black Pearl to an A/A Hunter
18-35 Zone 10 Championship. After such an auspicious year, and with
Leslie's encouragement, Brian quit his job at Merrill Lynch and turned
professional at the beginning of 2010. He moved to Wellington
Florida, to work for Burr & Associates, an East Coast powerhouse
comprised of Mollie Ashe Cawley, Olympic Gold Medalist Leslie Howard,
Chris Cawley, and Timmy Kees during the winter circuit. After the
2010 Winter Circuit, Brian moved to Germany, where he worked at a
sales/breeding stable for 6 months, before getting the opportunity to
work for showjumping legend and Olympic Bronze Medalist Karsten Huck.
Brian is a bay area native, and joined Windfall Farm in October of
2011, and is looking forward to playing a part in helping the Windfall
teams achieve an exceptional level of success.
